What's the Best Way to Lose Weight? Motivation Tips and Making Weight Loss Fun!

The best and healthiest way to lose weight is quite simply a more healthy lifestyle.

Many people desperately want to lose pounds and they are looking for the best way to lose weight, yet they claim they are just not motivated enough to start, and more importantly, stick with a healthy way of life.

Why is it so hard to motivate ourselves to stick with a diet or a healthy eating plan? We know it's the best for us but we still can't do it. You feel deprived, you feel like you are not having fun, you feel like you're going to fail. Those are a few reasons.

So maybe the key might be trying to put a little fun and a little motivation into dieting. Start trying to think of all the reasons why you really want your diet to work, why you would like to shed those 10 or 40 pounds. Write out a list of all the reasons you can think of, stick them up on a bulletin board by your desk or on your refrigerator. Look at them every day! It doesn't have to be a huge reason, it can be just a small reason. Maybe you just want to feel confident enough in yourself to wear a bikini to the beach. Or maybe you want to make your friends jealous! That's okay, write it down on your list. Maybe you are embarrassed to take your kids to the water park because of how you look, or perhaps you are just plain and simply tired of being fat.

What are some other reasons you might think of that could motivate you? How about:

Improving your confidence.

Looking awesome for a high-school reunion.

Being able to enjoy outdoor sports and activities more.

Having more energy.

Becoming more healthy.

Getting rid of the double chin.

Be able to wear beautiful clothing in a smaller size.

Live longer and happier.

Avoid the health problems that come with obesity.

So if you need some motivation, make that list. Then when you find yourself becoming discouraged, read it aloud to yourself and envision these things happening. A healthy lifestyle is the best way to lose weight, but it can't happen if you can't stick to it. Once you are able to go back to your list at any time and read all the wonderful (and silly) goals you are striving for, you'll be surprised how much it will help you along your way.
