Lost Weight Gained Back - How Can I Lose Weight and Keep it Off for Good?

Are you like me, trying everything to lose weight, finally shedding some pounds, and then not too long after that gaining it all back? Are you asking yourself, how in the world can I lose weight and keep it off?

I tried diet and after diet, one after the other. Then I tried going to the gym but I just couldn't keep up with it as my life was simply too hectic. By the time I got ready, drove to the gym, exercised, and drove back home, it just took too much time. Home gyms didn't seem to work too well either.

What I found that has worked wonders is simply walking to lose weight. The great benefit is you can do it for free, the weight comes off easily, and you can keep it off for good.

There are lots of places to walk. I live on 5 acres and most of the time I just walk around my property, sort of using it as a track. The land is hilly and sandy so it's perfect. But my mom lives in a neighborhood that is very hilly with sidewalks all over, and that's a perfect place for walking. You can get in a great workout and never do the same route twice in one week.

If you don't have the luxury of a large property or a great neighborhood to walk in, there are numerous trails for hiking and biking, and there are also lots of state and city parks where you can find some nice trails.

Alternatively, small towns may provide a wonderful walking experience. I live near Mount Dora, Florida, which is this quaint little town with lots of shops and lots of sidewalks. People walk all over this town every day of the week. Great fun and great exercise.

If you don't like to walk alone, bring your dog along as a hiking partner. My dogs love to go out with me and it makes the time fly by.

If you find walking too boring, download an audio book to your music player and listen to that as you walk along. Talk about time flying by! Or if you don't like to listen to books, just listen to some tunes.

Walking is one of the best ways to lose weight fast and keep it off permanently. Give it a try and you'll find staying slim is a lot easier than you ever realized.
