A Few Tips on How to Save Money at Disney World
One of my favorite theme parks is Disney World in Orlando, Florida. If you are planning an Orlando Disney trip and are looking for information on this amazingly fun theme park, I've put together a few tips on how you can save a little money on your trip. First, forget about the myth that Disney is only for those with a money tree that bears on a daily basis. This is not true at all. A Disney vacation can be affordable, so don't worry too much if you are on a budget. If you are not within easy driving distance and plan to fly, you can save a little by choosing one of the no-frills discount airline services like JetBlue. You can usually save on airfare with these airlines. Also make sure you don't forget to check the prices in nearby cities. Sometimes you can save quite a bit by just driving an extra hour to another city. What about your hotel accommodations? If you are planning to stay at a hotel on the Disney property you will pay more for the hotel but the good news is you can save money on a rental car at the same time. You can use Disney's transportation system to take you wherever you need to go on Disney property. You've probably always thought all the Disney resort hotels were too expensive and all about the same price - a lot! But actually Disney has a wide range of hotels with varying prices, from their version of value priced such as All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, and Pop Century Resort up to the deluxe resorts such as Yacht Club, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian among others. Of course, you can find cheaper hotels off the Disney property but you will need to rent a car. To me, it's just much more fun to stay on property if possible when visiting a theme park. It just makes the vacation more enjoyable, and it's kind of fun going from park to park on the monorails. Now what about souvenirs? You know you have to buy some for your kids and bring some home to your friends and family. You can save a lot of money on Souvenirs by buying them at discount stores like Wal-Mart. Of course, the quality may not be the same so you can probably only get away with this if you have very young children. But it is a good savings tip for keeping on a budget. What I recommend is to tell the kids they can buy one souvenir from the park at the end of the trip, and if they want anything else, buy those at the discount store. One last thing, you can save some money in the parks buy purchasing a bottle of water and then refilling it throughout the day at the water fountains. |
